As Graduate Product Owners, Aum Damrongkitkanwong, Alex Radulescu, and Madelaine Wood are trusted to turn ideas into products that’ll impact millions. It’s a role that blends strategy, execution, and fast learning in equal measure.

We caught up with them to find out what the often misunderstood role really involves. This is life as a Rev-celerator Product Owner.

What drew you to the Rev-celerator Graduate Programme?

Alex: The prospect of working for one of Europe’s most exciting companies made it a simple decision. I was already a Revolut customer — I opened my account at 18 and used it almost exclusively as an international student in the UK — so the opportunity to join the team behind the product was hugely exciting. I was especially drawn to the breadth of Revolut’s fintech reach and the chance to oversee initiatives end to end, from scoping to launch.

What’s been the most surprising part of your journey so far?

Madelaine: The responsibility given to you from day one. While it was initially daunting, it accelerated my growth and pushed me out of my comfort zone. It also taught me not to internalise mistakes, but rather to view them as learning opportunities. I’ve certainly made a few, but Revolut’s culture of ownership has contributed to building my confidence.

Alex: The speed and quality of delivery. At Revolut, we break down initiatives into phases that prioritise the most impactful features first. Seeing my work come to life, like driving adoption for Revolut Pay by working with Marketing, Sales, and Ops, has been a standout learning experience. The ability to track impact and iterate fast has helped me become more adaptable.

How has the fast-paced, problem-solving culture shaped your growth?

Alex: As a PO graduate, I work on products that serve both merchants and retail customers, which means understanding and balancing B2B2C needs. I’ve learned to apply the 80/20 rule to focus on what truly drives results. This mindset, paired with the responsibility I’ve been given, has accelerated my growth and built a proactive way of thinking.

Aum: It’s accelerated my learning massively. Every day brings a new puzzle, and not all solutions work the same.

Tell us about a challenge that made you feel like you were making a real impact?

Aum: Customer communications related to financial crime can often feel confusing or frustrating. I’ve been working on a new checklist-style communications framework to simplify the process. The aim is to increase clarity and transparency, helping customers respond more easily and reducing friction.

How have you been able to learn from Revolut’s brightest minds?

Alex: One of the biggest learning curves has come from working cross-functionally with stakeholders across Product, Legal, Compliance, Data, and Engineering. I’ve sought out mentorship wherever possible, whether refining messaging for Revolut Pay or figuring out the best approach to a tricky technical solution.

What does flexibility at Revolut mean to you?

Alex: For me, flexibility means focusing on delivering impact, not clocking hours. The hybrid model allows me to structure my time around what matters most. I’m usually in the office because it’s where I can get quick feedback and collaborate easily, but having the option to work from home when needed really supports my rhythm and lifestyle.

What are you most excited to achieve in your career at Revolut?

Madelaine: I’m excited by the opportunity to lead a product from the first spark of an idea all the way to launch, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders, and ultimately seeing it in use by customers around the world. Given Revolut’s global presence and rapid growth, it would be an incredible achievement to see a product I’ve helped design, develop, and launch being actively used by so many.

As Aum, Alex, and Madelaine have described, being a graduate PO is more than monitoring from the sidelines. It’s about building, solving problems, and delivering results. If you’re curious, ambitious, and ready to develop your skills fast, then the Rev-celerator Graduate Programme is for you.
