Upgrade Promotion

What is the Promotion about?

As part of the Revolut x La Velada del Año V Upgrade Promotion (the “Promotion”), Revolut is offering its existing Revolut Personal customers residing in Spain (the “Eligible Market”) having participated in the on-site activation to hit the punching machine (as regulated in the Punching Machine Challenge), the opportunity to:

(a) Receive a 1.5x multiplier on their score for the Punching Machine Challenge, increasing their chances of winning; and

(b) Receive our Premium Paid Plan for free (the “Free Trial”) for a limited period of time (the “Discounted Fee Period”). The Discounted Fee Period will be displayed in the Promotion Invitation before you decide to upgrade. The Premium Discounted Fee offer is only for customers currently on a Standard Plan.


The specific information relevant for the Free Trial will be specified on any of the following (each, a “Promotion Invitation”):

  • email;
  • text-message or SMS;
  • in-app message or push notification; or
  • physical advertisement at La Velada event (via the QR code).

The Promotion Invitation will specify:

  • The time period during which you can participate in this Promotion (the “Promotion Period”);
  • The steps you must complete in order to receive the Free Trial (the “Required Steps”); and
  • Details on how you can claim the Free Trial.

These Promotion Terms set out the rules that apply to the Promotion, and you must comply with these Promotion Terms, as well as:

Who is eligible for the Promotion?

To be an “Eligible Participant” you must:

  • live at a residential address in Spain;
  • be an active Revolut Personal customer with no restrictions on your account;
  • receive a Promotion Invitation; and
  • be at least 18 years of age.

How do I start my Free Trial?

To start your Free Trial, you will need to complete the steps to upgrade your Revolut Personal account to your offered subscription plan within the Promotion Period.

Just so you know, the Paid Plan Terms and Fees Pages will apply to you during your Free Trial.

We will not charge you any Paid Plan subscription fee for the period of time included in your Free Trial. We’ll tell you in the Promotion Invitation and Free Trial Promotion dashboard how long you’ll receive your selected Paid Plan for free so you’re aware before you sign up.

After your Free Trial ends, by default you will remain on your selected Paid Plan unless you tell us otherwise, and normal billing (whether monthly or annually) will apply.

Right to cancel

You have the right to cancel your subscription plan within the Free Trial (your “cooling off period”), after which normal cancellation rules will apply. This means that normal fees for downgrading your Paid Plan subscription will apply (see the “Fees for downgrading your Paid Plan subscription” section of the Paid Plan Terms for more information).

Physical Revolut card

You can order one Revolut card free of charge during your Free Trial period. However, if you decide to cancel your Free Trial Paid Plan subscription during the Free Trial period, you will have to pay us the fee for the delivery of the card. You may also have to pay a card delivery fee and a fee for the card itself if you order any additional Revolut cards.

Fees for ending or downgrading your Paid Plan subscription

You can end your Paid Plan subscription at any time (we call this a downgrade). Depending on your country of residence, ending or downgrading your Paid Plan subscription may be subject to some fees. See “Fees for downgrading your Paid Plan subscription” in the Paid Plan Terms for more information. In order to check the start date of your subscription go to the ‘Profile’ -> ‘Plan’ -> ‘Billing Details’ section on your Revolut, and to check how you can downgrade, go ‘Profile’ -> ‘Plan’ -> ‘Change Plan’ section. Once you downgrade, you'll become a Standard user again (a personal account holder who does not pay a subscription for any of the Paid Plans).

What other legal information should I know?

  1. This Promotion is organised and offered to you by Revolut Bank UAB, Sucursal en España, with tax ID W0250845E, duly registered with the Commercial Registry in Madrid under Volume 44863, Sheet 1, Section 8, Page M-789831 and with the Bank of Spain under number 1583. Its address is at Príncipe de Vergara 134, 4 planta, 28002, Madrid (Spain).
  2. We may change, suspend, extend or end the Promotion earlier than the end of the Promotion Period if, in our reasonable opinion, it is being abused or may negatively affect Revolut’s goodwill or reputation. We may do this on an individual or promotion-wide basis.
  3. If we need to change, suspend or end the Promotion before the end of the Promotion Period, we will announce this in the same way the Promotion was announced and, where possible, we will try to give you notice in the same way we announced this Promotion. Any changes to the Promotion Terms will not affect your rights if you have already participated in the Promotion.
  4. Revolut will not be liable for any loss, whether directly or indirectly suffered, as a result of an event outside of its control which means we are unable to continue running the Promotion as planned. Please contact Support (support@ravolut.com) if you believe you qualify for a particular benefit in relation to the Promotion that has not been awarded to you as a result of early suspension or termination.
  5. Revolut shall not be liable for any loss that is not due to fault or negligence of Revolut or third parties cooperating with Revolut, whether directly or indirectly suffered where, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to continue running the Promotion as planned. The above provisions do not in any way exclude Revolut's liability under the generally applicable provisions of your local law.
  6. We may decide not to grant you the Offer, Discounted Fee or Free Trial if we become aware you are no longer an Eligible Participant because you no longer meet the Required Steps, your Revolut Personal account becomes suspended or restricted, you engage in fraud or material abuse of this Promotion (for example, attempting to obtain an unfair advantage through deception) and/or you breach these Promotion Terms or the terms that apply to your Revolut Personal account.
  7. If you close your Revolut Personal account or your account becomes suspended or restricted before we were due to award you the Offer, Discounted Fee or Free Trial, you will lose your entitlement to it.
  8. By participating in this Promotion, you confirm that you understand that any benefit you receive as part of this Promotion may be subject to local income tax in the country of your residence and/or in the local territory where you are tax resident. It is your responsibility to pay any tax which may arise from receiving any benefit. Revolut will bear no liability for any tax obligations which may arise from receiving any benefit as part of this Promotion.
  9. Revolut needs to process your personal data to perform our obligations under these Promotion Terms. For more information about how we handle personal data, see our Customer Privacy Notice.
  10. These Promotion Terms are published in Spanish and English. The prevailing language will be Spanish.
  11. The Laws and Courts with jurisdiction in order to deal with claims issued with regards to these Promotion T&Cs are the Spanish Laws and Courts.
