Revolut X FAQs

  • No matter your crypto trading volume, the price to trade on Revolut X is the same — this is different from other exchanges that have higher fees for less volume traded. We charge 0% maker fees and 0.09% taker fees. All fees are displayed before you execute a trade.
  • Taker orders: if you want to buy or sell crypto instantly, we’ll match your order with existing orders in the order book. This takes liquidity from the market. The price for a taker order on Revolut X is 0.09%, so if you place an order to buy $1,000 of BTC, the fee will be $0.90.
    Maker orders: if you want to buy or sell crypto at a certain price, we’ll keep the order open until another order matches yours, or you cancel it. This contributes liquidity to the market. The pricing for a maker order on Revolut X is 0%.
  • Liquidity allows financial institutions to convert crypto into money (fiat currency) without substantially affecting crypto prices. We offer deep liquidity, so Revolut X customers get quick trades because there’s no waiting for orders to take place.
  • On-ramp is the process of exchanging fiat currency (e.g. US dollars) to crypto. Off-ramp is the process of exchanging crypto to fiat currency (e.g. US dollars).

  • You can initiate a market order to help you buy or sell crypto at the market’s current best available price. A market order usually happens immediately.
    A limit buy order will automatically purchase crypto at your preferred buy price, if it’s met in the future. A limit sell order will automatically sell your crypto at your preferred sell price, if it’s met in the future.

  • Revolut X is a separate platform, which can be downloaded as a mobile app, or used as desktop platform on exchange.revolut.com with more advanced crypto features including analytical tools, lower fees, and lower spreads.

  • Cold storage is a way to store your assets in places not connected to the internet to protect it from potential hackers. The majority of crypto on Revolut X is held in cold storage.
  • A custodian is a financial institution that's an expert in guarding and managing cryptocurrency. They securely store crypto with advanced cryptography and hardware security.

  • Revolut X uses TradingView's Advanced Charting Libraries, which include a wide range of technical indicators, drawing tools, and options for integrating real-time data, enabling the creation of interactive financial charts. These charts allow customers to track cryptocurrency prices and use various tools to analyse trends, predict price movements, and make informed trading decisions.

  • To promote trading transparency, Revolut X publicly discloses market data on trade history and order book snapshots. To ensure this data is accessible to our clients, we provide downloadable CSV (comma-separated) files for all available market data. Historical market data is also available via our REST API – Trades and OHLC endpoints.
