Revolut, the global fintech leader with more than 65 million customers worldwide, today revealed the product to hit the India market soon. The first tranche of Revolut cards issued in India will be on the Visa network, marking a significant milestone in bringing Revolut's innovative financial solutions to Indian consumers.

Revolut’s India product is the only platform of its kind that seamlessly integrates India's domestic UPI payment systems with prepaid cards and powerful international spending capabilities powered by its own licences. This eliminates the need for multiple apps, providing Indian consumers with a single, intelligent hub for payments - both at home and abroad. Revolut sees India as a key growth market, with its young population and high fintech adoption. The company estimates at least 150 million Indians are actively seeking a solution like Revolut and aims to onboard 20 million customers by 2030.

Economic Secretary to the Treasury of the United Kingdom, Lucy Rigby said: “Revolut’s expansion into India is further proof of the UK’s global leadership in fintech. Their powerful, innovative platform will deliver better banking services to millions – showcasing the best of British business on the global stage and driving growth in the UK and India.”

Paroma Chatterjee, CEO, Revolut India, said: “Today marks a pivotal moment for Revolut and for Indian consumers. We are revealing a new way of doing money. By combining the power of India’s domestic payment ecosystem with a world-class international spending product, we are giving our customers unparalleled freedom and control. Our partnership with Visa allows us to deliver a trusted and seamless global acceptance experience to our users, along with an integrated UPI experience, from day one. This is the first step in our long-term mission to empower Indians to change the way we money.”

Rishi Chhabra, Country Manager, India Visa, said: “Visa is delighted to partner with Revolut as they bring their global-first innovation to India. The first set of Revolut cards in the country will be powered by Visa, giving customers the confidence of transacting on one of the world’s most trusted and widely accepted payments networks. Through this partnership, Visa will enable Revolut to scale seamlessly across India while giving its users secure, reliable and globally accepted payment solutions from day one. By leveraging Visa’s trusted network, global reach and security, Revolut can deliver unparalleled payments experience that is truly borderless while being deeply relevant for India.”

The India reveal follows the company’s recent announcement of its global goal of serving 100 million customers, aiming to reach this milestone by mid 2027, as well as aiming to enter more than 30 new markets by 2030. To power this growth, Revolut is committing $13Bn in investments across the world over the next five years, which will also support the creation of 10,000 new jobs overall.

The Revolut app in India will feature:

  • Unified Payments: A prepaid wallet with UPI, a domestic Visa card, and an international multicurrency Visa card, all within one platform managed from a single app
