- An eSIM is a digital SIM that allows you to switch to local data networks on your device while you're abroad, without having to swap out your physical SIM card. eSIMs are now built into many new devices like smartphones and tablets. They're quickly becoming the new standard in SIM technology, and it's easy to see why. Just purchase your plan, activate your eSIM, and you're all set for your trip to the USA.
- When you purchase an eSIM data plan, your eSIM will connect your device to local data networks in the USA. You won't have to remove your physical SIM card, and you can keep your current phone number active. Just select your eSIM for data connectivity in your phone's settings, and you're ready to roam.

To get a Revolut eSIM, all you have to do is purchase a data plan in-app, then install and activate your eSIM before the first use. After that, you'll be all set for your trip to the USA — and you'll also be able to purchase data plans for your future travels to 100+ countries and territories, in just a few taps.

If you don't already have it, download the Revolut app on an eSIM-compatible iPhone or Android device.Buy your eSIM data plan in-app
Go to Lifestyle on your home screen, then tap eSIM. Select a local data plan with coverage in the USA and choose how much data you need.Install your eSIM
Go to Lifestyle -> eSIM and follow instructions to install your eSIM. The steps may differ depending on your phone manufacturer. You'll only have to set up your eSIM once.Activate your eSIM data plan
Activate your data plan by selecting your Revolut eSIM for data roaming in your device settings.Go travel!
Your eSIM data plan is ready to use in the USA. Track your usage in-app, top up whenever you want, purchase different data plans on the go — and most importantly, enjoy your travels.
- Once your eSIM is installed and activated, you can easily track your usage and top up your data plan in-app. Here's how:
- Go to Lifestyle on your home screen, then tap eSIM.
- Select your local data plan with coverage in the USA to see how much data you've used.
- To top up your plan, go back to eSIM, choose the USA as your location, and select the amount of data you need. You can also select a different location if you want to buy a new data plan in another country or region.
- Confirm your order to complete your purchase, and your data plan is ready to use.
- eSIM data plans can only be used on the device that you used to buy the plan. If you need another eSIM for a second device, you can buy one directly from the Revolut app on that device.
