How fast are bank transfers?

Delivery times for bank transfers vary depending on the currency you're sending and the destination country. Sending euros to a country in the SEPA zone? If the bank you're sending to is part of the SEPA Instant service, your recipient may receive the transfer in a few seconds. Looking for a fast bank transfer in the UK? Local transfers in British pounds may not be instant, but they're still quite fast — they're often received the same day. We define an instant money transfer as a type of payment that arrives in 20 seconds or less. Here are some of the ways you can send and receive money instantly.

• Transfers to other Revolut customers Not only are they instant, but they're also fee-free.
• Card transfers They usually arrive in seconds, but they can also take 30 minutes in some cases.
• SEPA Instant This is a type of bank transfer that allows you to send euros within the SEPA region instantly. Not all banks and account types support this type of transfer, so check with your recipient before sending.

The time it takes for your money transfer to arrive can vary depending on the destination country and the currency you use, but here are some tips to help you speed up your transfer.

• Always double-check your recipient's account details before you send. Incorrect information can cause delays.
• Choose the fastest transfer method. Transfers to other Revolut friends are instant, so they're a good choice if you want to send money immediately. Card transfers and SEPA Instant bank transfers generally arrive in seconds too. You'll see the estimated arrival time in-app before you send.
• When you send a bank transfer with Revolut, external banks may occasionally experience delays we can't foresee. The recipient's bank might not process your transfer during weekends or bank holidays. In these cases, your transfer may appear as pending a bit longer than expected. Keep this in mind and choose a different transfer option if you need your money to arrive fast.

Standard bank transfers can take anywhere between 1 to 5 working days to arrive. The exact timeframe depends on the country you're sending from, the destination, and the currency.

• Many international bank transfers, like SWIFT transfers, take 3 to 5 working days.
• If you're sending euros to a bank account in the SEPA region from the UK, your transfer will usually be processed as a standard SEPA transfer. These types of transfers generally arrive within 2 working days.
• Local bank transfers in British pounds to bank accounts in the UK often arrive the same day.

Unlike these standard bank transfers, SEPA Instant bank transfers let you send and receive euros in seconds within the SEPA region. Heads up — not all European banks support instant international money transfers. Even if your recipient's bank is part of SEPA Instant, their account may not be set up for it. Check with them before sending.

Depending on the transfer method you choose, you may also pay a small transfer fee. This is the amount we charge to process your transfer.

• Bank transfers

You won't pay any bank transfer fees when you send euros within the SEPA region. If you're sending somewhere else, you'll see a small transfer fee calculated in real-time before you send. You'll get discounts on these fees with our Premium, Metal, and Ultra plans. External banks may charge non-Revolut transfer fees that we can't foresee. • Card transfers

You'll pay a small card transfer fee when you send money using someone's card details. The amount will depend on how much money you're transferring and where you're sending from.

• Revolut-to-Revolut transfers

You won't pay any transfer fees when you send money online to other Revolut accounts.
